We woke up to a gorgeous sunrise right off the veranda of our stateroom and soon thereafter our son Brad arrived. He and his Mom went for coffee and hot chocolate, then returned with our morning drinks. The "boys" enjoyed their beverages on the veranda and soon we arrived in the Bahamas - our stop for today.
Soon there after we headed off to Marceline's (named for Marceline, Illinois where Walt Disney grew up1) for our breakfast. I'd read that guest should pay particular attention to the small details on the ship and so much creative design had gone into the littlest things. That's when we noticed that the overhead lights looked like the old fashioned milk tray that the milkman used to carry to your front door with the glass bottles of milk. Of course only the older generations of guest would recall this LOL :)
Mid-morning I went to a presentation on the "Making of the Disney Wish." Only about 1/4 of the presentation was on the physical making of the ship. So SO much creative thinking and amazing work to bring the various parts of the experience together for guests. Not only the training of the staff - who are like family to one another - but how to design the various parts of the ship. Just fascinating.
After this I walked the ship and took in the many amazing wall art displays in the stair well and on the walls of the corridors. The Peter Pan mural of course brought back memories of our youngest son who WAS Peter Pan for several years of his younger life - including the full costume. Note the photo of him in his costume - and on the left is a photo of HIS son, our grandson Oliver one day at the same age as his father is pictured ...... I know, right? WOW.
While Oliver went to the "Oceaneer's Club" for kids for a Star Wars activity, Brad and I had a drink together in the "Keg & Compass". Tonight we rotated to the Arendelle restaurant where during dinner there was a live performance by the characters from "Frozen" - followed by them coming to all the tables.
Finally we closed out the evening by attending the live performance of the "Little Mermaid" in our custom made pj's (thank you Lauren!"
